Freelance work

Since the age of 15 I have worked as a self-taught freelance video editor, web designer and social media manager/content creator for a variety of different projects, campaigns and creators. Recently I have also started to work as a runner on TV sets, photoshoots and various music videos, something which I am really enjoying and intend to continue. Listed below are some of my most notable jobs to date - feel free to get in touch!

BTS videographer & set runner

Recently I have worked as a set runner and behind the scenes videographer on several photoshoots and music videos. It has been incredible to work alongside so many immensely creative people (who's social medias I have linked below) in such vibrant professional settings. I am learning so much and love being able to use my own skills and creativity to help the vision come to life.

For the 100

This ongoing campaign is set out to create a statutory duty of care for students at university in the UK. Since it was launched in 2022 I have worked as the video editor and content creator, also running the Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn pages. Having reached our goal of 100K signatures on a government petition earlier this year, and achieved wide media coverage, we have made significant noise. Despite this, we have a long way to go before a change in legislation, so are continuing to fight - with some big projects in the works.

Fred Thomas, Labour MP for Plymouth Moor View

As an MP one requires a brand, not only to advertise their campaign, but also to promote themselves. Fred Thomas, the labour MP for Plymouth Moor View, approached me (having seen my work with ForThe100) to help him to build this image; from designing his website to creating his fundraiser posters. So far it has been really interesting learning what it takes to be a political candidate and seeing first hand how important one's online presence is in gathering significant support.

Change Campus Culture

This is another ongoing campaign which is focussed on improving universities' response to sexual assault. So far they have made huge steps in the courts - having won the first duty of care sexual assault case in the UK.

I was commissioned to make the website, including the interactive map resource (which can be found on the site). I am also working on editing a 3 part series for their social media pages and YouTube channel pages which will be coming out soon.

Michael Kors:
Conscious working campaign

In 2022 Michael Kors launched a campaign in collaboration with Conscious Working - a mental health and wellbeing organisation focused on improving working habits and workplace environments. The campaign involved a daily challenge video for employees to undertake during their working day, each of which was shot and edited by me.

YouTube

My first role as an editor was for my friend's YouTube channel. From something which started out as a bit of fun, together we managed to grow a channel from 0 to over 25K subscribers - each of whom where drawn to the channels lighthearted and comedic style. Developing my skills over this time, under the pressure of an eager fan-base, I was was later approached by other creatives, such as ElmoFilms (a channel of over 300K subscribers), and asked to edit.

It is fair to say that I owe my passion and love for editing entirely to my YouTube days, it was the most fun and perfect place to start - and the creative freedom was limitless. Here you can find an example of one of my early videos.

Living Bodies Objects Launch Event

Whilst at Leeds I was approached by the professor of Biosciences to shoot and edit a promotional video for the launch of their 'Living Bodies Objects' research project. This was an unusual event, so I decided to take a more unusual approach with my shooting and editing. The sound I chose, combined with the various visual effects, I felt, perfectly reflected the nature of the project. Whilst this was only a small job, it taught me a lot about adapting to more specific requirements and the importance of representing a brands image effectively.

A bit of fun

On the side of everything else one of my favourite things to do is help out with other creatives' fun projects. This video was for Zen Arcade - a Bristol based events collective - and centres around an alien invasion with an unexpected ending...
